Mary (Reynolds) Way and Family Format: jpg Note: Left to Right: Arthur Lee, Archie, Carl Deforest, Mary |
![]() Note: |
In 1880 Census, there was a Wallace Reynolds(age 30) living in the household. Probably a Brother of Mary. He was a carpenter. The census indicates both Reynolds parents were born in PA. The three sons were also present. Mary was a dressmaker and used this to support herself after Charles Deforest died. Ethel Josephine remembers hearing that because of hard financial situation, Archie was sent to the "Woods" farm to help and be taken care of. Mary later remarried a "Scrambling" and was known to the family as Grandma Scrambling. The Scrambling's lived in a nice house in Columbus. However, her second husband did not live long, either. In about 1914, Mary was living with Carl and his wife. When Carls' wife died, Ethel was sent to keep Mary company. In 1927 when Mary was bedridden, she was taken care of by Chester and Katherine Smith in Corry. Ethel and Virginia lived with her there for a period of time before her death. ![]() |
